Dear UPENN Track and Field Alumni,

Assistant Coach Stephen Walsh

This past weekend the Men’s Track and Field team traveled to North Carolina for the 2006 Raleigh Relays at North Carolina State University. The team
went down with the hopes of warm weather and sunny skies but was greeted with cold weather and scattered rain.  No problem, because we came home
with some solid performances.

400m with a time of 49.48.

In the Middle-Distance events, Courtney Jaworski won the open 1500m in 3:47.52, which places him ninth on the all-time Penn list. Courtney led the race
from the start, going through the 400 in 61 seconds and the 800m in 2:03 until Penn Grad Sam Burley took the lead and led into the final stretch. Sam
finished second with a time of 3:48.77 as Courtney caught him with 80m to go and prevailed.
